'Scandi House' is a locally listed building in the St Albans Conservation Area in Hertfordshire. Where we wanted to emulate our clients Scandinavian, contemporary inspired style through a single storey side extension.

Our client wanted to achieve a luxury master suite in the loft space as well as internally reconfiguring the space to allow for a home office hidden by bespoke cupboard in the hallway concealing the door. This was a deal breaker for our client with them having to work from home more often.

The outcome is a soft addition to the house with large expanses of glazing at the rear making use of the the views of the garden. An additional rear window was added for uniformity framing the garden- a perfect place to sit, with the clients style being reflected in and outside of the property. Contrasting the existing brick natural timber will clad the extension wrapping underneath the overhang.

Our proposal was really positively received at Pre Application and are waiting to achieve full Planning Permission for this scheme to go to site.
